Description	Laying of First Brick Work on Academic Building. The completion of this building gave it the credit of being the most complete school building in the State of Louisiana for Negroes. People came from all sections of the State to see this new state school in which such a great investment was made at its beginning. This building also relieved the President's home of taking care of the academic work of Southern University, as well as the Home Economics work.
