Description	Dr. Robert Green served as the third President of UDC, serving from 1983 through 1985. From 1965-1967, Dr. Green worked with the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.as Education Director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Green was considered an expert on school desegregation. Before coming to UDC, Dr. Green was dean of urban affairs programs at Michigan State University (MSU), and earlier, dean of the college of urban development MSU. He is a nationally known scholar and expert on urban issues, including the impact of race, education, and employment on individuals and communities. In 2002, Dr. Green received the International Ghandi-King_Ikeda Award for Human Rights and Peace Initiatives from Morehouse College, and in 2004, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from MSU.
