Description	Eugene A. Clark (1883-1962) was the last principal of Miner Normal School and the first president of Miner Teachers College. Born in Washington DC, he received his degrees from Williams College and Miner Teachers College (1908). He taught in the DC elementary schools from 1909 through 1914. He began teaching at Miner Normal School in 1914. He was acting principal at Miner from 1920 through 1921, and princiapl from 1921 through 1926. He served as President of Miner Teachers College from 1930 through 1953. president Clark developed a broad range of student activities, but he operated within an inadequate budget. Miner received accreditation from the American Association of Teacher Colleges in 1933, and the Middle States Association of Teacher Colleges in 1944. Miner Teachers College received high rankings from accrediting agencies during Clark's presidency.
