Description	Dr. William L. Pollard, Seventh President of UDC, served as President of the University of Columbia, from 2002 though 2007. During Dr. Pollard’s tenure, UDC attained accreditation or reaccreditation of all its academic programs, including the law school. He also increased academic and professional counseling for students, establishing outreach to alumni and creating an annual Founder’s Day program. Dr. Pollard earned a BA Degree in Sociology from Shaw University; a MSW Degree in Community organization from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and a Ph.D degree in policy and Planning from the University of Chicago. Dr. Pollard now serves as NASULG’s Vice president for the Office of Access and the Advancement of Public Black Colleges and Universities.
