Subject	Paine Institute Art
Description	African Art Collection Once Housed In Haygood Hall. The Gentleman In The Photograph Is The Late William Elmo Tabb Who Made The Collection While Doing Missionary Work In The Belgian Congo And Liberia. In The Four Divisions Of The Collection Displayed On The Second And Fourth Floors Of Haygood Hall, There Were Representatives From The Cultures Of At Least Ten Different Tribes. This Irreplaceable Collection Had An Appraised Value Of Approximately One Million Dollars. The Collection and Haygood Hall were destroyed by fire, August 3, 1968.
