Completed in 1869, North Hall was the first building constructed for the new Atlanta University. When first compleded it provided dormitory rooms for both men and women students as well as providing classroom space.
Built in 1882, it was the second building on the new fifty acre Atlanta University campus, located on the west side of downtown Atlanta. Stone Hall functioned as the main administration and library building for the University until 1929.
